TagTree
Terms of Service
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms cover your use of TagTree, a website for running holiday giving programs. By registering a family, claiming a tag, donating, or signing in as an admin, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use TagTree.
1. Who's who
- Rare Digital (“we”, “us”) builds and runs TagTree and processes donation payments.
- The organizer is the PTA or parent organization running your event. The organizer runs the giving program: it decides who can register, reviews tags, collects gifts, and gives them to families.
- Families register their children to receive gifts. Donors claim children's tags and buy gifts, or donate money. Admins are the organizer's volunteers who manage the event.
2. Using TagTree
- You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to claim a tag or donate.
- Give accurate information. Only a parent or guardian may register children.
- Don't use TagTree to find out who a family is, contact a family, or share anything that could identify a child. Don't claim tags you don't mean to fill, use someone else's email, or try to break, overload, or get around the site's protections.
- The organizer or Rare Digital may edit, release, or remove any registration, tag, or claim, and may block anyone who misuses TagTree.
3. Registering a family
Registering doesn't guarantee that your family will receive gifts, or any particular gift. The organizer decides who is eligible and how gifts are given out. Your children's ages, genders, sizes, and interests appear on a public tag under a code like “Family 12, Child B”, never with your names or contact details. Please don't include names or other identifying details in the interests you list. See the Privacy Policy for how your information is handled.
4. Claiming tags and dropping off gifts
- When you claim a tag, you're telling the organizer you plan to buy gifts for that child and drop them off by the event's deadline. If you can't, release the tag from your manage page so someone else can claim it.
- Follow the organizer's drop-off instructions. Don't include your contact details or personal notes with gifts unless the organizer asks for them.
- The organizer, not Rare Digital, receives, stores, and gives out gifts. Gifts you drop off become the organizer's to give and can't be returned.
- Your manage link is private. Anyone who has it can update your claims, so don't share it.
5. Donations and fees
- Rare Digital processes donations through Stripe on the organizer's behalf. Your card is charged by Rare Digital, and your statement may show Rare Digital's name.
- Before you pay, we show your gift amount plus card processing and a platform fee. Those fees are added on top, so the full gift amount goes to the organizer for the event. Rare Digital keeps the platform fee, and the card processing fee goes to Stripe.
- We hold donations and pay them out to the organizer after the event ends. The organizer decides how to use donated funds for the program.
- The email you get after donating is a payment receipt, not a tax receipt. Rare Digital doesn't decide whether a donation is tax-deductible. If you need a tax receipt, ask the organizer, and check with a tax advisor about your situation.
6. Refunds
To ask for a refund, contact the organizer running your event. Their email is on the event's pages and on your donation receipt. The organizer decides on refund requests, and Rare Digital processes the refunds they approve back to the card you paid with. Refunds are possible until donations are paid out to the organizer at the end of the event; after that, any refund is between you and the organizer. If you think you were charged by mistake, you can also email us at hello@getraredigital.com.
7. Admin accounts
Admins sign in with an email link and may only use family and donor information to run the event. Keep access to your email account secure, and don't share family or donor information outside the organizer's program.
8. No warranties
TagTree is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Rare Digital isn't responsible for the organizer's decisions, for gifts or how they're handled, or for what other people do with TagTree.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Rare Digital won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from your use of TagTree, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid through TagTree in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using TagTree after a change, the new terms apply.
11. Governing law
Rare Digital is based in Washington state. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these terms or TagTree will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Washington, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it somewhere else.
12. Contact
Questions about your event, gifts, or refunds: contact the organizer running your event. Questions about these terms or TagTree itself: email Rare Digital at hello@getraredigital.com.
